Last time they were left by the Asin Ocean and the Meurde Pool. Hiei was talking to the very charismatic princess in the pool and the others were trying to figure out the rune which was round and an arrow pointing down into it. The meaning was almost captured by Sahyber, but she became distracted once she figured it out and did a 180 degree change in thoughts.
Cole raised his hands into the air and let out a nice yawn, his eyes closed tightly to where he could see nothing. But soon enough his eyes reopened and his arms fell back to his side, he turned to Hiei looking at the pool, though nothing was said to him, at least not yet, those eyes of his then moved around to the others he traveled with.
Hiei contemplated, It seemed they were there and his own reasons led him to believe the pool had a part to play in it besides fact the princess was trying capture his attention he turned from the group to look at princess within the pool unable to really resist. ?If I was to free you then what?? Asking her really what she would do if he tried which would fail in the end.
Malina frowned looking up at the arrow then at the round building with a perk of her brow at Hiei. "Hmm doesn't surprise me"
Princess Tarenta toyed with Hiei really giving no guarantee that she could do anything. "I'd give you the answer to the rune you're all asking for. ?Would you give your life to me? One ice mage to free the Princess, and all will have the rune solved??
Hiei`Darkstar arched a brow now that was going a bit far to give his life to a woman that could most likely be his grandmother if you was to wonder about her age. ?Tell me the answer to it first and as far as giving my life to you I don't know you long enough we haven't been on a date and you telling me no kissing o n first dates.?
Cole smirked to the Princess in the pool, you would have to be a fool to fall for a thing like that. "Darkstar, let's hope your thinking from above the waist." His head moved to Malina, he didn?t know her, didn't know Hiei for that matter, but he was there and so were they. His feet brought him forward to the pool now, looking down into it.
Nevaul`Kincade slowly stood along the shores of the ocean, looking out into the dark waters as his arms folded. A hand raised to his chin as he pondered for a moment. "Hrmm, didn't Sahyber say that the tower was likely in the ocean, and that the little pool princess merely served as a distraction or to mislead others from the tower itself?" Nevaul then said as he looked back to the others, his gaze eventually falling back to the patch of darkened ocean waters.
David`Keystone shook his head slightly as both of his hands gripped his staff and he took a lean into it. "I wasn't here for that, so I can't say for certain," David then said as he looked to the ocean waters before looking back to Nevaul. "You're not thinking of jumping in, are you?"
Wicked this way comes; she was in no mood for light jokes and lured Hiei in with her charisma. Once any one was dragged in she'd easily kill them. She used as much charisma as she could to sink him into the small pool of death. When she seen Cole leaning in the mirror image of her on the water swam before his eyes, and she was a sight of beauty. "Tower? What tower?" She interjected and laughed unmercifully at Nevaul using her charm on him too.
Nevaul`Kincade> "I'm curious," Nevaul simply said before his hands fell to his waist, the waters barely brushing up along the tip of his boot as the waves rushed in.
Hiei`Darkstar wasn?t sure if he met Cole and ignored Nevaul. He spoke to the princess that others had speculated. ?Besides? I know your history Princess I do not have power free you from the water goddess.?
Malina made her way to where the others are and frowns "Hiei it is a trick, ye know that besides you can get another woman"
Right before the others eyes she sucks them into the pool
and laughs. Underneath the water once they get inside the pool they will see the dead decaying bodies of others she has dragged in with her charms. Decayed faces of knights and rusted armor floated underneath their feet. She wouldn't have to do much unless the others saved them.
Ametrine lifted up one side of her cloak and threw it over her shoulder to free her hand, keeping her distance from the pool that was fabled for luring in travelers by deceit. Instead, she turned her head to glance over to Nevaul and listen to his mumbles. Then her gaze travelled over to the shores of the ocean and she rubbed her hand against her chin in speculation. Even if such a tower existed out in the ocean, there would be no way to enter it. Not as normal living and breathing creatures anyway. She made no motion to concern herself with the men at the moment, idly keeping an eye on them but just enough to see that they wouldn't get into too much trouble. Ametrine turned away from the ocean and slowly made her way back to the group and glanced between the three men as they were sucked into the pool. In an instant, she reached inside of her cloak to remove her channeling cards.
Malina, David, and Ame are outside the pool watching the spectacle.
Malina turned to Ame "How are we going to get them out?" Now glancing about and chewed her lower lip nervously.
David`Keystone slowly stepped towards the edges of the pool, gazing down within for a moment, frowning. "Okay, I'm going to assume they didn't do that voluntarily in the long run...." David said, looking up to the others who were still above water, "I don't suppose the rest of you swim well?" David said as he laid his staff along the ground and began to wade into the water, in all likelihood an attempt to swim down and pull some of them out.
Before he knew it he was dragged into the pool itself before some men wearing armor with knighthood emblems on it making a face as he tried to hold his breath he could not speak with his mind or use sign language so he can't signal others trying to hold his breath while in the water he tried to swim around the bodies looking for one of two things a way out or the elusive tower
Nev, Hiei, and Cole would feel a sucking current that held their feet in the rising pool as the princess cooed at having company once more, even if it was short lived. Slowly the water rose to their knees and the princess's face smiled happily as it began to rise upwards. It hadn't reached head level yet.
Nevaul`Kincade was submerged, the waters didn't seem to register save for the fact that he was holding his breath.
Ametrine removed a large card with runes engraved into the design and glanced over at Malina, drawing in a breath. "Don't panic. Don't panic. They're strong men. They can handle themselves if we can just get them out." Especially Hiei, he was capable of holding his own. Ametrine lifted up the channeling card between her index and middle fingers and began to draw in power from all around her absorbing electricity in from her pores. She threw her free hand forward and sent a massive bolt of electricity straight down to touch the pool's surface. Naturally, there should be salt in the water from being so close to the sea to act as a conductor for her. She could only hope the men would not be affected.
Seeing David walking in the water Princess Tarenta laughed wildly and there was a feel of warmth and sexuality to the woman of such beauty. Ame's throw of lightning in the water burst it upwards enough to push them out and up to the sand.
Cole looked to Nev and then to Hiei, "Well, this isn?t good." His eyes moved down and he showed no emotion on his face yet he was concerned some, wanting out of the water as quickly as possible.
Hiei`Darkstar was lured into pool now with really a obvious idea happen to him next, "Really Nevaul you are a taken man...she likes groupies I guess." Jesting as he was trying think of a way out of it Hiei only had one option to do it and he really never tried underwater casting ice spells so He made a effort to cast a spell to freeze the princess if she was one dragging him to temporarily stop her before he made a effort to get out .
Cole, Nevaul, David, and Hiei flip out of the water and the image of the princess's smile faded in the water. She seemed amiss and confused with her vision blurring. Trying to cast a spell back at Ame the princess failed terribly from the lack of stability and her image faded back and out as the lightning rippled the water's surface.
Nevaul`Kincade shook his head slightly as he rubbed his eyes. "Sorry, I thought for a moment someone said there was some party. Alcohol, water polo, or something," Nevaul said as he looked around along the ground, coming to a stand once again.
Malina rushed over to the guys and grins "So how doesn't it feel to share one woman?" then glances to Ame
Finally her stability seemed to falter and she just whispered, "Fools there is no temple, but do go into the sea and see what there is down there."Ame had confused her enough to get one piece of information out of her until the lightning stopped rippling the waters and her image again was clear upon the surface.
Cole sat up in the sand, his head shaking, "Ridiculous." he was wet and now sand was clinging to him and his clothes, at least they were out of the sand, that was the best thing. Standing he regained his posture and began doing his best to get the sand off him, "Everyone is alright I presume?"
David`Keystone slowly stood up, looking to the pools water as he grabbed his staff, looking to Melina, "I went in there to get them out, not flirt with some aquatic tart, thank you."
Nevaul`Kincade grumbled as his hand rose to his face. "She'll likely taunt me for losing out to some charm," Nevaul muttered under his breath. "Well, while there may or may not be a tower, there may be something besides saltwater, fish and rocks in the ocean waters."
Ametrine lowered the card in her hand and allowed it to rest at her side and narrowed her eyes on the princess's reflection in the ripples. She had no intentions in trying to harm the woman. When the princess in the reflection hissed the information out that they needed, Ametrine let her guard down and placed the lightning card back in her cloak with the rest, rather satisfied that her first use of it had been a success. Ametrine looked between David, Cole, Nevaul and Hiei with a sigh of relief. "I'm glad you're okay." She smiled between Malina and David's squabbling and refrained.
Malina shrugged "Alright so any ideas on how to get into the ocean without drowning?"
David`Keystone slowly tapped his staff as a little magic glow appeared in his eyes and a small breeze began to blow over the surface of the pools waters, keeping a ripple effect going, if for no other reason than to hinder the water's mistress against befuddling the other's senses again.
Hiei spoke, ?Well I am not sure who told you I would said exotic dancers liquor and card games.? He shrugged as he look back to the pool briefly well this ruled out his theory and to Nevaul he said, "Tell Sahyber she was right this time." Right now only now admitting his theory was wrong however by chance of the confusion which he was as well get some information out of her. Well she did know something.
The princess became silent and her eyes closed being drained magically from what she was doing. She did whisper one final contort to them, "You're all afraid to go under and see, and I wish you farewell. You will learn no more from me."
Rumors had it that someone was buying up a lot of herbs and potions in Tanis's shoppe. In fact he couldn't keep up with making them and the shelves were bare. Among the party they would find some Baaton soldiers down the beach and some Seraphs and HonorKnights all drinking heartily and going underwater and coming out.
Cole raised his brow, "I'm going to take that as a yes." He turned away from the group now, looking around then back around to the group, wandering if what the Princess was saying was a taunt to go into the water or actually help, he'd say nothing for now, he had no reason to. The half elf pauses looking down to his hands, then to the ...what looked to be some odd sort of beach party.
The ocean itself there is a darkened area about 9 miles in circumference.
Hiei spoke out, "So it is a tie on who is right game?" Correcting the preverbal score on subject he was talking to Nevaul about Hiei was only had one means go under water that was through magic but if the ruins proved right there had be a area that was breathable and seeing all three knighthoods drinking going underwater then coming out he shrugged. ?We can do that too.?
Malina heard a lot of laughter and blinks as she squints seeing some men going in and out of the ocean like it was nothing and makes her way to them "Excuse me sirs but how do ye go into the water like that without drowning?"
Nevaul`Kincade slowly stepped down towards the beach, looking to David, Ametrine and Malina. "Don't suppose you could manipulate the element of air to en-capsule out heads in air bubbles for breathing while we swim?"
Ametrine could not help but feel that there was an oxymoron somewhere along the lines of their search. To her knowledge they were searching for water that would allow underwater breathing and to get to their next destination they would need to be able to go underwater for long periods of time. Ametrine looked between her group members and then back to
Nevaul specifically. "While that is possible, I am unsure if our magic is capable of sustaining all of us. We're not even sure how long we're going to be down there." Ametrine gave a pointed look to the Baaton and Seraph members who walked in and out of the ocean with a look of disbelief. "Ask them."
One man thought Malina was easy on the eyes and slipped her a bottle of underwater breathing potion. He smiled and patted her shoulder. There should be enough for you all to take a dive underneath. There were no spells that would suffice for them to live underwater, no nothing but smooth salt water with the tide going out to sea. Another soldier answered Ametrine. "No magic has helped us, we are heading to the darkened area now."
David`Keystone slowly gave a shrug. "It's possible, but the time constraints become the problem, we don't know how long we need to be down there." David said looking around to the collection of factioned soldiers on. "It almost appears to have become a race to find this place," David muttered under his breath.
Malina blinked at the bottle handed her then smiles sweetly "Ohh thank you M'lord" glancing to the others hopefully now.
Nevaul`Kincade looked to one of the Seraphs as his arms folded. "Don't suppose any can spare a couple of the potions for those I travel with?" Nevaul asked, reaching into his pouch for some gold if he had to pay.
Hiei`Darkstar walked among the crowded area of HonorKnights since only the Searphs knew he was one of them he could simply get one from them looking at the Gorlocks mainly in all that heavy armor he extended a hand out as gesture he wanted some of that potion if not more.
Malina giggled at the others trying so hard and hides her bottle taking a walk to Nev leaning in to whisper "I have a bottle of the potion."
Equal portions should give you enough to get to the darkened area. We find the potions give out quite quickly do beware. Weapons we have tried, even magical ones. We do see a red blur but haven't found out what it is yet." One Seraph handed Nevaul a bottle two, and reminded him there was only enough for one each. An Honor Knight gave Hiei the same potion warning him that they were becoming scarce.
David`Keystone slowly looked down at the potion for a moment before looking out to the waters, giving a slow sigh as he looked to a random soldier. "Have any gone out the black waters yet?"
The soldier answers," Not yet seems the potion gives out before we get to the red area down below."
Ametrine reached up to her shoulders and loosened the clip that held her cloak together, allowing the thin silk cloak to fall free from her shoulders, discarding itself along the beach and blowing away with a gentle breeze of sea air. Afterwards, she began to roll up the sleeves of her tunic and smiled at Malina with a knowing look. Thank Gods for beautiful women. Ametrine would be unlucky at this point since she didn't have any ties with the knighthoods. She crossed her arms in front of her chest and began to pace around the beach in contemplation. Finally, she approached one of the Honor Knights that had just come out of the water and gave him a hopeful look. "Is there any possibility that I may buy one of those potions off of you?" If worse came to worse she would owe them favor.
Nevaul`Kincade nodded slightly to Malina as he looked down to the potion for a moment, pondering for a moment as he grumbled under his breath.
The Honor Knight handed Ame a potion and would take no gold from her. It was their way and they appreciated the help. The Baaton seemed to be almost obsessed with going underwater, coming up and allowing another to go under 2 by 2 for safety reasons. One Seraph went under with his sword glowing red on his side.
Malina frowned hearing what the soldier said and turns to the man that gave her, her bottle "Excuse me again Sir but what if we were to drink two bottles of potion, could we get to the black area?" looking a bit hopeful.
Hiei took what he was given nodding although he needed what was enough for himself maybe more than enough but seems two would be enough to get pass the area that was being talked about. ?Care to explain how far that area is there could be faster way get there and drink potions before going into that area of water.
David`Keystone nodded, slipping the potion into the folds of his robes. "How long do the potions last?"
He shook his head sadly to Malina, "Not this potion it only lasts for a short time." The soldier wearing the sword on his side went under with another Seraph accompanying him. This search had nothing to do with ethics, it had to do with general interest and the fame of solving the puzzle. Sky already said she knew it, but they ignored her last time so she refused in coming along.
Nevaul`Kincade slowly looked to the waters again before looking around the area for a raft to take them out over the center of the blackened waters instead of swimming there.
Malina nodded and perked a brow wondering what the other man's sword was glowing red then turns to the others "Perhaps there is something with steel that can help us?" pointing the red sword.
Cole continued forward with the others to the gathering where they were handing out potions, he was listening to every one's ideas on what should be done with the potion but he couldn't think of a suitable way to go about using it and still getting to whatever was red down below. So he waited, listening and wondered if maybe what they needed was a water elemental, or maybe even just a fast swimmer? Unsure he continued to think he continued to think in silence.
Ametrine tipped a wink to the Honor Knight and gave a lengthy bow of her head in gratitude to the Honor Knight. "Thank the gods for small favors. I owe you." Ametrine took the flask into her hand and looked down at it, her eyes lingering over the bottle. One potion would have to do because she didn't want to waste everyone else's time mooching for potion. Ametrine moved in the direction of the shore and walked along the sandy beach, looking over the wave chicanes.
Hiei`Darkstar Assumed it was L'ombre sword the Seraphs was walking in holding out his right hand the red blade appeared and look at it briefly before looking to the water in thought before taking a stroll to the shore line.
Nevaul`Kincade "Well, if we had a boat, we could simply sail out to the center of the black waters and sink or swim strait down, rather than wasting energy and potion time swimming out to it," Nevaul suggested as his arms folded.
Nevaul`Kincade looked to the sword for a moment before rubbing his chin. "Sky had one of them last time we were out here," Nevaul then looked over to Hiei, "You said you had a sword of L'ombre didn't you?"
Malina eyed Nev for taking her idea then sighs as she watches the men go in and out of the water but not taking any more potion than just that once.
Malina, "Perhaps if we had a sword to carry with his it will make the potion last longer?"
Ametrine "If we knew exactly where the entering point was, we could simply fly out there." Ametrine mumbled in response to Nevaul's suggestion, doubtful that she would be heard. That was entirely the problem everyone seemed to be unsure of its location. Ametrine tucked the potion away inside of her cloak and proceeded to remove a short cheroot. Ametrine lit the tip with her extended thumb and simply stared out over the ocean waves. Regardless. It was going to be a pain in the ass to get past the tide. They would be out of energy by the time they escaped the tide.
Hiei`Darkstar held the red blade up for Nevaul to see mmhmm right here. Resting the blade on his shoulder he waited until the Honor Knight he was speaking to earlier give him a idea as where the area was the potion was giving out he had his own idea getting there faster but of course he was trying get the idea underwater cravings in the Eclete temple meant.
Jakobey`Jepone took a few steps towards the edge of the water, thinking to himself. "I have an idea!" he shouted. He turned towards the others then. "If somebody can teleport.. Can't they take all of us with them to the spot in one instant!?" He wasn't very familiar with the whole teleportation thing but hoped it was a good idea.
Malina That would take a lot of energy Jak, perhaps we can build a quick raft or perhaps the knights had a boat or raft they can borrow?
David`Keystone nodded slightly to Jackobey, "It could be feasible, provided that the place in question isn't guarded from such magic?s. Not to mention, without knowing specifics about the location, it would be sort of like teleporting randomly, or blind."
Hiei`Darkstar? You are a ghost you do not need the potion ,mumbling , "dumbass." Hiei shook his head as there was fact he explained, ?Haven?t been underwater myself so I could end up on Diridian walking on the invisible bridge
There was a response to Ame's idea and the Seraph and HonorKnight took flight in the air. "Good idea we could fly over the darkened area let us bring you with us. They expanded their wings to go above water to the middle of the darkening water and immersed themselves and went under. But the current pushed them towards the red area and reminded Jak teleporting one could carry only one at a time.
Hiei`Darkstar stared at the winged Knights blinking. "How is that any different from what I was trying to suggest?" Hiei stared, shaking his head keeping any further thoughts becoming vocal lowering his head with a sigh this is why he preferred not to try say anything in such easy way such as boats or ask how far from shore was.
Malina watches what happened and frowns trying to think what had caused the men to be pushed back to the red when dropped above the dark area wondering and talking to herself "What if we were to use the sword to unlock the red are so we may enter the dark area, would this be possible?"
Ametrine chuckled low beneath her breath to Hiei's insult in regards to Jakobey. Ametrine took a few puffs from the cheroot before discarding it along the sand. One thought had passed in her mind about magically altering each person's weight enough that they would be able to float on top of the water. Of course, the tide would just end up pushing them back onto the shore. Her thoughts were interrupted when someone responded to her idea of flight. It wasn't a terrible idea. In a flash of blinding white light, two large wings split from the center of her back and her skin split and stretched. The sand was stained with crimson blood and shredded human skin as a large amethyst dragon stood where Ametrine was last spotted.
Jakobey`Jepone shrugged, having forgotten about the blind teleporting thing. People have ended up inside of trees from that. He shook his head and let Hiei's words flow in through one ear and out of the other, ignoring them. He had had a lot of criticism in his life, therefore ignored most of it lately. He was all about his studies, and cared not about the words or fate of others. Jakobey glanced over at Malina as she spoke remembering his sudden infatuation with her on Lovers' day. He smiled a little but turned towards Ametrine then, eyes growing wide at the dragon that stood in her spot. "
Visually they had a picture it was a 9 mile circumference, they all had potions, wings or what not . (( Malina has basically solved the quest ))
Jakobey`Jepone had just joined the group and still had no idea what the hell anyone was talking about. All he had gathered in this little meeting was that they were trying to get somewhere that was usually inaccessible.
Malina wondered if that?s a good thing or a bad thing?
Hiei`Darkstar let that slip out he simply waited them take any further action as far as SkyFlare opinion earlier about this sword being a key and other Seraphs using them meant he will have make use of his shame he had hope keep it such good condition until his ceremony. ?I am going get a boat and guided to the area and dive below rather wait on number winged beings come give us rides.?
Ametrine the dragon craned her long slender neck and released a stream of steam and smoke from her nostrils. Long draconic wings expanded from it's sides with shimmering amethyst scales running down the length of its body. It did not have spines and was actually rather smooth. (Obviously female) The Dragon craned her neck down at Jakobey and Malina who were standing just nearby. Easily she was larger than a buffalo. The Dragon thrust it's wings down against the sand in powerful slams, kicking up sand and tiny bits of glass around her form. "Feel free to climb on." She finally spoke, intending to leave.
Jakobey`Jepone turned towards Ametrine and jumped onto her. He gripped her lightly - the wind wouldn't push him off even if she flew fast.. It merely went right through her.
Malina jumped right behind Jak as she heard Ame offer and hung on tight to her sides as not to fall not wanting to hold onto Jak and make him think she was easy.
Hiei found no boat, but Nevaul`Kincade finds a small boat with oars on the beach in back of a lean to of reeds. Malina finds a boat under a palm tree and it is small but can hold two.
Hiei`Darkstar was baffled as to why a ghost would have worry about it since breathing is one other things ghost do not necessarily need to do walking away from the others who was offered rides on half dragons backs unless one of the winged Searph?s offered him a ride the Rouge spell casting priest continued look for a boat.
The waters looked dark almost blurred and as Hiei walked he neared Nevaul who has a 2 man boat.
Ametrine released a heavy laugh from the depths of her throat when Jakobey mounted her back, recognizing him from her wedding. Just as she was about to take off Malina had arrived just in time to climb onto her back as well. Their weight was supported beneath her with ease. Malina was light and Jakobey was... well, a ghost. The Dragon extended hers neck and kicked up more sand beneath her form until the air caught beneath her wings. With ease, the dragon soared out over the ocean at quickened pace, her talons skimming along the ocean water. She was careful not to get caught up from the large waves from the tide and mindful of the two passengers on her back.
Nevaul`Kincade slowly let a "ah," escape his lips as he began making his way over towards the boat he spotted and waved David to follow as he made his way towards it.
Jakobey`Jepone frowned as they went up into the air - This was one reason he wished he was still alive. To feel the wind blow through his hair, against his face - even if it was freezing cold. He laughed though, sensing out fast they were going and looked down at the waves beneath them.
Peerless stood at the edge of the beach gazing upon the waves crashing quickly into the sands he then spreads his wings and takes a couple of steps back looking around for anyone on the beach.
David`Keystone nodded slightly, following Nevaul as he and Nevaul eventually found themselves in the boat, Nevaul rowing out as David simply rode as passenger. "I could speed our way with magic if you wish," David suggested.
Hiei walked along the sand he came to a halt to the boat Nevaul had found but rather than impose and leave David on beach he choose to resume without saying anything to them tapping the fiery red blade on his shoulder during search for another boat he was trying figure out what was it SkyFlare knew involving this rare sword had to do with it?
The boat Malina found is left behind. Clearly in Hiei's vision.
Nevaul`Kincade shook his head as he rowed the boat against the ocean current. "Save your magic, we don't know what we'll find below," Nevaul then said as he kept his eyes over the blackened waters, gauging how close he was getting to the center. He then looked up to Hiei, "You may want to go in first. As Melina suggested, there's likely some connection between the magic in the Sword of L'Ombre and the waters below. It may make access easier."
Malina frowned as Jak's hair whipped in her eyes "Do ye mind?" then sighs and talks loud so she is heard over the wind as they fly through the air "Ye know I don't think this will do us any good until someone unlocks the red so we can get into the dark area, the other men were thrown back from the dark to the red"
Jakobey`Jepone glanced over his shoulder at Malina, his ghost hair whipping around her face. Being in solid form the hair would feel like hair against her eyelids and face, but it would also be much colder as if it were frozen of ice. "Yes, I do." He said it half-jokingly before winking at her and turning around as she spoke some more. "She might have a point, Ametrine," he spoke to the dragon the rode on. "Maybe."
Ametrine remained close to the water to make sure that felt comfortable. Ametrine had an abnormal fear of heights and hated going up too high. She left two long streams behind her where her talons skimmed along the water. Good thing Irurath was not here instead, he would probably be doing outrageous stunts or something along those lines. Ametrine had sped out just far enough to avoid the tides below them and drifting over the water while she waited for Hiei, David, and Nevaul to catch up. "Right. We need to wait on the others." Mainly Hiei, since he had the sword which seemed to be the key. Perhaps there was a barrier that prevented them from getting close to their destination.
Peerless took 4 large sprints forward and launched himself into the air rapidly moving his wings to gain altitude his goal now was to catch up with the others and help with what he could |
